How to File Your Complaint
Step 1 — Document Everything
Before filing any complaint, gather all evidence: screenshots of errors or charges, email correspondence with Apple support, receipts and billing statements, a detailed timeline of events, and any case or reference numbers from previous contacts. The stronger your documentation, the more seriously regulators take your complaint.
Step 2 — FTC (Federal Trade Commission)
Visit reportfraud.ftc.gov and select 'Online Shopping' or 'Computers & Technology'. Describe Apple's specific violation including dates, amounts, and correspondence.
Step 3 — CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau)
If the complaint involves Apple Card or Apple Pay financial services, file at consumerfinance.gov/complaint under 'Credit Card' or 'Money Transfer'.
Step 4 — BBB (Better Business Bureau)
File with the BBB of Santa Clara County (Apple's HQ jurisdiction) at bbb.org/complaints. Include your case number and Apple's response timeline.
Step 5 — State Attorney General
Contact your state Attorney General's consumer protection division. California residents file at oag.ca.gov. New York residents file at ag.ny.gov.
