How to Cancel Your Hinge Subscription

Identify How You Subscribed

Before attempting to cancel, determine how you originally subscribed to Hinge Plus or HingeX. If you subscribed through the iPhone app, your subscription is managed by Apple through the App Store. If you subscribed through the Android app, it is managed by Google through the Play Store. If you subscribed through the Hinge website, it is managed directly by Hinge. This distinction is critical because you must cancel through the same platform where the subscription originated. Canceling within the Hinge app itself does not stop billing if the payment is processed by Apple or Google.

Cancel Through Apple App Store

If you subscribed via iPhone, open the Settings app on your device and tap your name at the top of the screen to access your Apple ID settings. Tap Subscriptions to see a list of all your active subscriptions. Find Hinge in the list and tap on it. Tap Cancel Subscription and confirm your decision. Your premium features will remain active until the end of the current billing period. If you do not see Hinge in your subscriptions list, you may have subscribed through a different platform or with a different Apple ID. Check all Apple IDs you have used on your devices.

Cancel Through Google Play Store

If you subscribed via Android, open the Google Play Store app and tap your profile icon in the top right corner. Select Payments and Subscriptions, then tap Subscriptions. Find your Hinge subscription in the list and tap on it. Select Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts to confirm the cancellation. Google will ask for a reason for canceling. Your access to premium features continues until the billing period ends. If the subscription does not appear, check that you are logged into the same Google account that was used to purchase the subscription originally.

Cancel Through Hinge Website

If you subscribed directly through the Hinge website, log in to your Hinge account at hinge.co. Navigate to your account settings and find the subscription management section. Click on Manage Subscription or Cancel Subscription. Follow the prompts to complete the cancellation process. Hinge may present retention offers such as a reduced price or extended trial period. If you want to proceed with cancellation, decline these offers and continue through each confirmation step. Save or screenshot the cancellation confirmation page for your records as proof that you completed the process.

Verify the Cancellation Took Effect

After canceling through any platform, confirm that the cancellation was processed successfully. For Apple subscriptions, go back to Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and verify that Hinge shows an expiration date rather than a renewal date. For Google subscriptions, check the Play Store subscriptions page for a canceled status. For direct Hinge subscriptions, look for a cancellation confirmation email in your inbox. If you do not see confirmation within 24 hours, contact the relevant platform's support team. Monitor your bank or credit card statements for the next billing cycle to confirm that no additional charges appear.

Decide Whether to Delete Your Account

Canceling your subscription stops future payments but keeps your Hinge profile active with free-tier features. If you want to completely remove your presence from Hinge, you must separately delete your account. Open the Hinge app, go to Settings, scroll down, and tap Delete Account. Hinge will ask for a reason and may offer alternatives like pausing your account. Confirm deletion to permanently remove your profile, matches, messages, and all associated data. Note that account deletion is irreversible and you cannot recover your match history or conversation data once the deletion is processed by Hinge's systems.
