How to Cancel LinkedIn Premium Subscription
Step-by-step guide to canceling LinkedIn Premium in 2026. Navigate retention screens, cancel through App Store or Google Play, and verify no further charges.
Step-by-Step
Review Your Subscription Details
Before canceling, log in to LinkedIn and navigate to your account settings. Click on your profile picture in the top right corner, then select Settings and Privacy. Go to the Account Preferences section and find Subscriptions and Payments. Here you can see your current plan type, whether it is Career, Business, Sales Navigator, or Recruiter Lite, along with your billing cycle, next payment date, and the price you are currently paying. Take note of your renewal date so you can time your cancellation to maximize remaining access.
Evaluate What You Will Lose
Understand exactly what premium features you will lose upon cancellation. LinkedIn Premium provides InMail credits for messaging people outside your network, the ability to see who viewed your profile for the past 365 days, salary insights on job listings, access to LinkedIn Learning courses, and applicant insights showing how you compare to other job applicants. If you primarily used LinkedIn Learning, consider that many public libraries offer free access to the same content through library partnerships, which may reduce your need to keep paying for Premium.
Cancel Through LinkedIn Settings
Go to Settings and Privacy, then navigate to Account Preferences and click on Subscriptions and Payments. Click Manage Premium Account, then select Cancel Subscription. LinkedIn will present several retention offers, including a possible discounted rate or a free month extension. If you are firm on canceling, decline these offers and proceed through each confirmation screen. LinkedIn makes you click through multiple pages designed to change your mind, but keep clicking through until you receive a final cancellation confirmation message.
Cancel Through Apple or Google If Applicable
If you subscribed to LinkedIn Premium through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, you must cancel through those platforms instead of LinkedIn directly. On iPhone, go to Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, find LinkedIn, and tap Cancel Subscription. On Android, open the Google Play Store app, tap your profile icon, go to Payments and Subscriptions, then Subscriptions, find LinkedIn Premium, and cancel from there. Canceling within LinkedIn will not stop billing if the subscription was initiated through a mobile app store.
Download Any Valuable Data
Before your premium access expires, download any data or insights you want to keep. Export your connections list from Settings and Privacy under Data Privacy, then Get a Copy of Your Data. Screenshot any saved salary insights, applicant comparison data, or analytics that you found valuable. If you have been using LinkedIn Learning, download the completion certificates for any courses you finished, as these serve as proof of professional development that you can reference on your resume or in performance reviews.
Verify Cancellation and Monitor Billing
After completing the cancellation process, check your email for a confirmation message from LinkedIn acknowledging the cancellation. Log back into your LinkedIn account and revisit the Subscriptions and Payments page to confirm it shows your subscription ending on the specified date rather than renewing. Monitor your credit card or bank statements for the next billing cycle to ensure no charges appear. If you are charged after canceling, contact LinkedIn support immediately with your cancellation confirmation email as evidence and dispute the charge with your bank if LinkedIn does not resolve it promptly.
