How to Permanently Delete Your Tinder Account
Step-by-step guide to permanently deleting your Tinder account in 2026. Cancel subscriptions, download data, revoke social logins, and verify complete deletion.
Step-by-Step
Review Your Subscription Status
Before deleting your Tinder account, check whether you have an active Tinder Plus, Gold, or Platinum subscription. Open the Tinder app and tap your profile icon, then tap Settings, and look for Manage Payment Account or Subscription. If you have an active subscription, you must cancel it separately before or after deleting your account, because deleting your Tinder account does not automatically cancel subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Failing to cancel the subscription means you will continue to be charged even after your account is deleted.
Cancel Your Subscription First
If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, go to your iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, find Tinder, and tap Cancel Subscription. If you subscribed through Google Play, open the Play Store, tap your profile icon, go to Payments and Subscriptions, then Subscriptions, find Tinder, and cancel. If you subscribed directly through Tinder's website, log in at tinder.com, go to your account settings, and cancel from there. Ensure you receive confirmation of the cancellation. Your premium features will remain active until the end of the current billing period, so you lose nothing by canceling before deleting.
Save Any Data You Want to Keep
Tinder allows you to download a copy of your data before deletion. Go to tinder.com in a web browser, log in, navigate to My Profile, then scroll to Download My Data. Request your data and Tinder will compile it and send you a download link via email within a few days. This data includes your profile information, messages, matches, purchase history, and usage data. If there are specific conversations you want to preserve, take screenshots within the app before deleting your account, as the downloaded data format can be difficult to read and may not include all message content in an easily accessible format.
Delete Your Account Through the App
Open the Tinder app on your phone and tap the profile icon to go to your profile. Tap the Settings gear icon and scroll down to the bottom of the settings page. Tap Delete Account. Tinder will ask if you want to pause your account instead, offering to hide your profile temporarily while preserving your matches and conversations. If you want permanent deletion, decline this offer and select Delete My Account. Tinder will ask you to select a reason for leaving. Choose any reason and confirm deletion. You will be immediately logged out and your profile will begin the deletion process.
Handle Linked Social Accounts
If you logged into Tinder using your Facebook or Apple account, the connection between those accounts and Tinder should be severed after deletion. However, it is good practice to manually revoke access as well. For Facebook, go to Settings and Privacy, then Settings, then Apps and Websites, find Tinder, and remove it. For Apple Sign-In, go to your iPhone Settings, tap your name, then Password and Security, then Sign in with Apple, find Tinder, and tap Stop Using Apple ID. For Google, visit myaccount.google.com, go to Security, then Third-party apps with account access, and revoke Tinder's access to your Google account.
Verify Deletion and Clean Up
After deleting your account, uninstall the Tinder app from all your devices to remove cached data including photos, messages, and profile information stored locally. Clear Tinder-related cookies from any browsers where you accessed the web version. Monitor your email for a deletion confirmation from Tinder. Check your bank or credit card statements for the next two billing cycles to ensure no further charges appear. If you continue to be charged, contact Apple Support, Google Play Support, or Tinder Support depending on how you subscribed, and provide your cancellation confirmation as evidence. Tinder states that account data is fully purged from their systems within 90 days of deletion.
