How to Replace Evernote with Notion

Create Your Notion Workspace

Sign up at notion.so. The free Personal plan is sufficient for most users. Choose a workspace name and configure your profile.

Export from Evernote

In Evernote, select all notes and export as .enex files. Alternatively, use Evernote's bulk export. Organize exports by notebook for easier mapping to Notion.

Import into Notion

In Notion, go to Settings > Import > Evernote. Upload your .enex files. Notion converts notes to pages and preserves basic formatting, images, and attachments.

Organize with Databases

Instead of Evernote's notebook/tag system, create Notion databases with properties. Use views (table, board, gallery) to organize. Tags become multi-select properties.

Set Up Templates

Create templates for recurring note types: meeting notes, project briefs, journals. Templates replace Evernote's static templates with dynamic, database-connected ones.

Install on All Devices

Install Notion on desktop, mobile, and use the web clipper extension. Notion syncs across all devices. Bookmark your most-used pages in the sidebar for quick access.
